ATAA Turkish Soccer Federation Team Up!

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) and ATAA have teamed up for cultural activities during the Turkish Nationals' U.S. soccer tour next week. ATAA and its local Pennsylvania chapter, TAFSUS, are planning a pre-game Turkish folk dance event and have obtained a Philadelphia City Proclamation in support of American diversity and U.S.-Turkish friendship for the USA match on May 29, 2010. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will present the proclamation to ATAA at the USA-Turkey match.

Separately, President Gunay Evinch sent letters - WORLD CUP SOCCER HITS "GRASSROOTS AMERICA" - informing each member of the U.S. Congress and Senate as well as the governors of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut and the mayors of Philadelphia, Harrison and New Britain, to the matches between the Turkish Nationals and USA, Czech Republic and Northern Ireland, respectively.

Many Congressional Members and Senators contacted President Evinch, congratulating the Assembly of Turkish American Associations on this important celebration of American diversity and U.S. - Turkish friendship. Please click here to read President Evinch's soccer letter.
