ATAA 32nd Annual National Convention

"Think Globally, Act Locally"
Leadership for Heritage Community Empowerment

April 13-14, 2012, Washington Plaza Hotel
Washington DC, USA

Dear Turkish Americans and Friends of Türkiye:

We are pleased to announce that the ATAA 32nd Annual Convention will include a National Leadership Day in lieu of a separate National Leadership Conference.

The ATAA Convention theme, "Local Leadership for Heritage Community Empowerment" synthesizes universal principles as "Think Globally, Act Locally" and "Peace in the Nation, Peace in the World", with the American tradition, "All Politics are Local".

The ATAA Convention will discuss Turkish American grassroots empowerment and US-Turkish relations. All Turkish American national organizations will be invited to join ATAA in planning and hosting National Leadership Day. All local chapters and members of Turkish American national organizations will be invited to participate in this historic event.

ATAA Past President Gunay Evinch will serve as Chairman of the Convention Committee. Board of Directors Members Maria Cakiraga, Demet Cabbar, Esra Alemdar, and Esra Ugurlu; Board of Trustees Members Oya Bain and Rebii Dagoglu; and the ATAA Staff and ATAA volunteers as determined by the Convention Committee, will serve as members of the ATAA Convention Committee.

We welcome your thoughts and ideas for panel topics, speakers and events. Please feel free to write to Chairman Evinch with an email to nlc-committee@ataa.org. We would be happy to hear from you.

Looking forward to seeing you at another successful ATAA Convention in beautiful Washington DC this Spring when the cherry trees blossoms are in full bloom and the weather is delightful!

Ergün Kırlıkovalı
