ATAA Congratulates the Turkish American Community Center of Lanham, Maryland

The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) Board of Directors and Board of Trustees congratulate its sister association, The Turkish American Community Center (TACC), on the initiation of its new facility in Lanham, Maryland. This $100M construction project will create hundreds of jobs in Maryland, and include community service facilities on 15 acres for activities relating to:

* Religious services and education
* Turkish language education
* Turkish history lectures
* Turkish culinary arts classes
* Cultural exchange
* Recreation, sports, and health
* US immigration and citizenship
* Women's equality and empowerment education
* Civic engagement and public advocacy
* Business, commerce and trade development
* Spiritual wellness

There are 19 TACCs nationwide. TACCs represent a board spectrum of Turkish American society, promoting secular democracy and respect towards diverse lifestyles.

ATAA is proud to partner with TACC in the Annual Turkish American National Leadership Conference, under the principle of Solidarity within Diversity.

ATAA commends TACC President Yasar Colak, Secretary General Adem Buyukacar, Public Relations Director Elif Eris, Imam Ebuzer Yurteri, and Female Chaplin Belgizar Ozbek on their leadership and service to the Turkish American community of the greater Washington Metropolitan Area.
