Young Turks Hold White House Vigil for Victims of PKK Terror

Sunday, September 4, Washington, DC – The Young Turks of DC held a vigil in front of the White House to remember the victims of PKK (Kurdish Worker’s Party) terrorism and salute the Turkish Armed Forces, as well as Turkish law enforcement and Turkish citizenry for cooperating in solidarity against the the hatred and violence of the PKK.

Accordingly to the US Supreme Court, support to the PKK amounts to support to a terrorist organization and is illegal. According to two federal Courts of Appeal, the PKK is a racist organization and Turkey’s anti-terror operations target terrorists, not people of Kurdish heritage.

The Young Turks held banners stating, “Turks and Kurds are brothers, Together we Condemn PKK Terror.” Engin Bozkurt, President of the Young Turks DC, stated, “We will never forget the victims of terrorism, whether by the PKK or other terrorist groups. Terrorist understand only violence. Slowly but surely, people of peace we will prevail and we bring an end to the PKK.”

The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) participated by placing a wreath in memory of the thousands of victims of international terrorism worldwide and to support solidarity, peace, and brotherhood among the Turkish citizenry.
